About GPRCI…

our mission.

Great Pyrenees Rescue of Central Illinois (GPRCI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization licensed by the state of Illinois. We are dedicated to rescuing and re-homing Great Pyrenees and are funded completely by public donations. GPRCI is based in Bloomington, Illinois but also has a limited number of foster homes throughout Illinois.

The mission of GPRCI is to:

  • provide stray and homeless Great Pyrenees with the physical and emotional care that they need and then place them into loving, responsible, life long homes.

  • promote responsible Great Pyrenees ownership by educating current and potential Great Pyrenees owners in the selection, care, and training of the Great Pyrenees.

  • help prevent additional homeless Great Pyrenees through education and information.

All Great Pyrenees that come into our program will be spayed or neutered and given any medical treatment needed including vaccinations, heartworm test (and treatment if positive), worming, flea and tick treatment, preventative medications, and treatment for any other medical issue, major or minor.  The dogs are also groomed and evaluated on temperament, personality, and behavior.
